There is something special about fishing in a beautiful setting like the one the Bow River has to offer. For one it makes fishing very hard as its so easy to be distracted by the stunning mountains, crystal clear pools or some of the magnificent wildlife species (grizzly, black bears, elk, moose to name just a few). On the off chance you notice that you have missed out on a school of fish, you ultimately realize that you essentially don’t feel like you have “missed out” on anything as you just spent that time consuming soul-food by observing the beautiful surroundings.
In saying that if you’re not into fishing and you’re looking for breathtaking views, you’re in luck ,we also offer a great sightseeing packages. You will not be disappointed since you will get to experience waterfalls, wildlife, hoodoos and views of the spectacular mountains.
We are a small family owned/operated business located in Calgary, Alberta.
Our main objective is to provide a memorable, fun and safe float down on the Glacial Lake in Banff National Park and down the beautiful upper and lower Bow River in our custom built mahogany drift boat.
The upper Bow River will leave an unforgettable impression on you as it waves its way through the romantic Canadian Rockies. This section of the river is known for its amazing landscape and wildlife encounter.
The lower Bow River just south of Calgary is a world class trout stream and according to the Alberta Fish & Wildlife Department it holds an impressive 2500 catchable trout per river mile. This section of the river is more nutrient rich compared to the upper Bow River and subsequently making this section more popular among anglers.
However it is also flowing through a beautiful landscape that hosts an variety of bird life which is perfect for bird watching.
Below is our custom built mahogany drift boat which is configured to accommodate 2 person plus oarsman comfortably but it also can be configured for 3 person plus oarsman.
The wooden drift boat is a classic as it generates stunning pictures for those seeking a rustic look and it gets plentiful of attention. There hasn’t been one time where we didn’t receive any compliments on our boat every time we take it out and of course we are secretly loving it.

Whiskey Bayou Charters is an inshore guide service located in the fishing village of Delacroix, LA within 45 minutes of downtown New Orleans. It is owned and operated by me, Captain Joe Ezell. My passion for fishing goes back to my childhood years, and nothing would make me happier than to see you catching fish on a charter with me.
You will be fishing aboard a 25’ Majek bay boat that’s powered by a 300 HP Yamaha F300XCA 4 stroke engine, making it able to easily achieve a cruising speed of an impressive 50 knots.
I do not book any trip shorter than a full day because I want to be able to fully devote myself to my clients, and make sure you have the best possible experience. A standard trip involves fishing the inshore waters in the Delacroix marsh for Redfish, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, and Sheepshead. I will have all the gear and bait at the ready prior to your arrival so you can focus on the most important part: fishing.
A typical trip lasts from first safe light until we limit, you are tired of catching or, we have been on the water 6-7 hours. We strive to make sure you have a fulfilling trip, but we have to call it around the 7-hour mark. We provide rods and reels (spinning) for use on the charter, live and/or artificial baits, and all fish are cleaned and bagged. You only need to bring appropriate clothing, snacks/drinks, and medication you might require for the duration of the trip (for details, visit our FAQ page).

Daily (May-Sept.) private 3h guided electric canoe fishing adventure for one or two participants only. We use a canoe with a 3 hp Torqeedo electric motor, and the latest, top quality, fishing gear. We usually fish for trout or bass, depending on the season and client desires. We offer spinning, baitcasting, spincasting, trolling and fly rigs, to handle all desires and skill levels. Our newly customized fishing canoe uses the latest electronic fish finding technology. And multiple cameras will document your big catch from every angle. Every tour begins with a delicious breakfast of Henrietta’s pastries and fresh ground/brewed organic coffee.
We promote catch and release conservation.
Please note we can not make any catch guarantees, especially on a 3 hour day tour. That said, our success rate on these day tours is running at 90%.
