You’ll be fishing from a 22’ South Seas walkaround. The boat accommodates 2 guests on a Bonefish trip and 4 anglers can join for trolling and bottom fishing excursions. This great vessel has been fully restored in 2020 and features a 60 HP Yamaha engine, navigational electronics, and coolers.
You can choose which fish you want to target on your trip. There’s a special tour to the muddy banks or Owens Island flats where you’ll target only Bonefish. For more variety when it comes to your preference, you can go trolling for Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Bonito, Yellow Tuna, Barracuda, or go bottom fishing for Permit, Snapper, Yellowtail Amberjack, Triggerfish, and more. You can keep some of the catch after the trip and the crew will clean it for you. If you are staying at one of the Little Cayman resorts you can arrange for the professional kitchen staff to prepare your catch.
The crew will fully cover your Shimano and Penn rods and reels, Yo-Yo reels for handline, a variety of lures, as well as more favored local bait. Feel free to bring your own gear, your snacks, and drinks, and it’s always a good idea to prepare your sun protection. The crew can also prepare a Caribbean or Caymanian locally-cooked lunch with advance notice and an additional charge.

THE BOAT
The Tradition is 24-foot Carolina Skiff powered by a 2015 Suzuki 140 four-stroke outboard motor. Equipment includes the latest in Garmin GPS and fish-finder electronics as well as a Fusion Marine Audio system. The boat is outfitted with a custom tower designed specifically for sight fishing for Red Drum and Cobia. A jack plate allows the Tradition to access the shallow waters of the Pamlico providing quick access to the fishing grounds as well as an excellent platform for flats fishing. Captain Kenny fishes out of a Ranger Bay 23 foot bay boat that is fast and will get you to the fishing hole in a hurry while also providing a comfortable ride. The boat is loaded with state of the art electronics and also has a Minn Kota Ipilot that holds the boat on the spot allowing you to maximize fishing time.
The boat will also be loaded with all of the rods and reels and equipment for the species you will be targeting on that given day. Fishing on the northern Gulf Coast requires a plethora of different size rods and reels.
Galveston Offshore Fishing Guide is proud to announce a new addition to the fleet for 2013, the “Half Time”, a 31 Ft. Oceanmaster owned and operated by Captain Shannon LaBauve. This boat is equipped with a restroom, salt and fresh water wash down, 2 gps units, radar, bottom machine, automatic epirb, tournament outriggers and 300 gallons of fuel capacity.
Captain Shannon La Bauve is a licensed Captain by the U.S.C.G. and is registered with Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as a licensed Fishing Guide. In addition, he holds current Reef and Pelagic Species permits from NOAA and HMS Charter/Headboat permit.
