Fishing Report from Fishing The Rogue.
Salmon & Steelhead Season
There are plenty of salmon and steelhead in the upper Rogue and as we head toward the end of spring salmon season, we’ve begun to see the 1st fall salmon of the season arrive. The river temperature has increased by a few degrees over the past few weeks and it has noticeably improved the bite. It is only a matter of time before decent numbers of fall kings make their way to the upper river. Summer steelhead are also showing in decent numbers, well above the 10 year average, for this time of year.
Attention All Fly Fishers!
August 1st is the day fly fishermen and women wait for all year. The very top of the Rogue closes for salmon fishing and the upper river is designated as steelhead fishing only through the end of October.
But don’t worry if you’re still looking for Chinook, salmon fishing will continue just downstream.
Whether you’re interested in king salmon fishing, a combo trip for both steelhead and salmon or fly fishing for summer steelhead there are plenty of options this time of year. As always, we”ll keep you posted and feel free to contact us anytime for more information.
