Fishing Report from Fishing The Rogue.
September 2, 2017 Rogue River Fishing Trip Report, Southern Oregon. Fishing near Medford, Ashland, Grants Pass.
Fishing the Rogue river in Oregon for king salmon has its rewards!
As mentioned in our last few posts, September 1st marks a change in fishing regulations to protect spawning salmon. The upper Rogue river, above Fishers Ferry, near the town of Gold Hill is designated as fly fishing only through October. From Fisher’s Ferry downstream we continue fishing for king salmon and steelhead using bait and tackle and found success this past week with our usual techniques (back bouncing roe, running plugs and fishing bait under a float).
Salmon fishing the middle Rogue river was marked with some distinctively large fall fish.
