Fishing Report from Fishing The Rogue

August 19th 2017.
Fishing on the Rogue river for king salmon and summer steelhead continues. We will be fishing the upper Rogue through the end of August, and then, starting September 1st we will move slightly downstream near the town of Gold Hill where we will continue fishing using bait and lures.
The upper Rogue will become fly fishing only on the 1st of the month through the end of October and will offer the avid fly fisherman opportunities to fish for steelhead and trout in the company of kindred spirits. If you are new to fly fishing or would like to learn, this is also a great time to master the technique. We have guides eager to show you how.
Rogue river salmon season will continue through mid October on the Rogue and begins again when spring salmon arrive in May. But rest assured, if you find yourself wanting to salmon fish in the fall, there is plenty of salmon fishing on the rivers of the southern Oregon coast.
We offer fishing trips on the Elk and Sixes rivers near Port Orford on the Oregon coast and are now booking trips for November through January.
Rogue river summer steelhead season will continue through December with some of the most productive fishing being the 1st two weeks of November.  As summer steelhead fishing begins to decline, winter steelhead begin to arrive in the Rogue and in the Umpqua river just one river drainage north.
Our Umpqua river fishing guides are already counting down the days until they can chase these prized Pacific northwest beasts again.

Don caught a nice salmon while fishing with Brady last week. He will be celebrating 100 years in November! It was truly a pleasure and we looking forward to your trip in September. Thanks Fred for the photo!
